I officially reached the two week mark for my departure date for Peace Corps staging in D.C. I marked this occasion by getting my blog going, but since I am still in the states and haven't really started my departure preparations in earnest it is still basically business as usual, at least for one more week. Next week everything should start to get more real as I begin to pack and finalize the move to the Dominican Republic. After that the fun starts and this blog should hopefully get considerably more interesting. Until then it's back to watching the Olympics for me, after all it is the only time I get to sit down and watch such events as curling, ice dancing and the luge. I am fairly confident they aren't going to be prominent sports when I get down to the Dominican.
